Dr. Ellen is a graduate of the prestigious Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport Iowa. She practices a variety of hands-on techniques that create balance, enhance movement in your spine, and give you greater mobility and flexibility. Expect relief from spasm, inflammation, restriction, and pain.
But while the majority of patients first come to find us to relieve their back pain, neck pain, headaches and related physical symptoms often patients are surprised to feel better than they have overall in a long time! That's when chiropractic care becomes a regular part of their personal wellness-care regimen. :)
FOR THE RECORD: Patients are never scheduled by some 'rote' system forced upon everyone (the “you need to come 3 times a week for 3 weeks then 2 times a week...blah blah blah”). Your care with Dr. Ellen will be un-rushed and tailored to your unique needs and goals that we set together.
Acupuncture is an element of Traditional Chinese Medicine, a healing tradition tracing its roots back thousands of years. Using micro-thin needles (there are also NEEDLE-LESS OPTIONS!) at specific points on the body, Acupuncture communicates with the the body's natural energetic system (called "Qi". pronounced "Chee") and the central nervous systems, encouraging balance and harmony of all body processes. Acupuncture has also been scientifically found to stimulate the body to release chemicals in the muscles, spinal cord, and brain that stimulate the body's natural healing abilities and promotes physical and emotional well-being.
Dry needling uses acupuncture needles to help treat acute and chronic issues of soft tissue, and many people find it effective.
Cupping is the use of small cups against the skin along with suction that helps draw blood flow (and "Qi") towards tissue surfaces and promote healing and recovery.
There is "spa-massage", which some folks call "fluff & buff", and which typically is a general head-to-toe relaxation-style massage that follows a specific sequence from body part to body part no matter what your needs or challenges in specific areas are. This is what you will frequently get at 'other' places.
Then there is THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE, which is what you'll receive here at Body Harmony of Arlington! Your therapist Melissa Kud, LMT LAc, will discuss with you your challenges, will perform an assessment, coordinate with any diagnosis you may have (working in conjunction with Dr. Ellen if necessary) and discuss recommendations for your treatment. You will then receive a targeted massage based upon YOUR needs, paying as much attention as necessary to your problem areas.
Sometimes a series of visits is required to deal with a complex or chronic issue, and we have discount packages to help you achieve the greatest results.
Currently massage is offered Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and on the weekend.

We are “energetic beings”… otherwise our heart wouldn’t beat and the neurons in our brain wouldn’t fire. We experience optimal health when all of the energetic elements in our body are flowing in harmony.
is a Japanese-based tradition of balancing the energetic pathways (meridians) of the body. Many ailments or conditions are a reflection of imbalance and disharmony in these pathways. Balancing your meridians, along with chiropractic care, diet/nutrition, fitness, and other intentional life choices helps you realize a higher level of functioning and health (especially if you have struggled with more traditional medical routes).
Dis-harmony in this energy flow can create disharmony in your physical, emotional, even spiritual health.
Scan-only visits are $25 and take about 15 minutes. If, after a review of your scan with Dr. Ellen you decide to begin care, cost of the scan will be deducted from your first visit.
